The Blogging Log-jam

Despite my newly organized self, I am still not finding enough time to get through all of my "to-dos" or "like-tos". My case in point is my bookmark folder called "to blog" is overflowing with about 50 things that I would love to post about. Rather than waste a good chuck of the holidays writing about everything, here is a few things I have found to be interesting as of late:

The Chronic of Narnia
If you love SNL parody, you have to watch this rap. As a side note, I just saw the Chronicles of Narnia last night and really enjoyed it (3½ stars), despite being stuck in the second row.
La Guerre Des Tuques
Better known as "The Dog Who Stopped The War", I was happy to re-live a little bit of my childhood through Only Magazine's mentioning of this Canadian Classic.
The Vancouver Election
I really enjoyed following this race and even did a video-art project on the demographics of voting day. However, my man Jim Green fell a few votes shy of beating out Sam Sullivan. Most interestingly of all was the James Green factor. According to the official tally, the combined votes of the two Green's is 526 more than that of Sullivan. If there wasn't the confusion, would Jim have taken it? That is something that no one will ever know.
The 50 Greatest Independent Films
I surprised to see Dead Man's Shoes in the list. Other than that, this is a great reference of some of my favorite films and new "must watch" additions to the rental list.
The Grateful Dead Crack Down on Digital Tape Trading
This was a sad day for closet Dead-heads such as myself. Archive.org has been the best and most extensive resource on the internet for a while now (rivaled by only Google and Wikipedia), so its sad to see a setback like this. For those who are interested in the situation, here is a post at The Music Never Stopped Dead blog that has a timeline with details.
Bobby even pipes in (audio) about the situation.

The Federal Election Campaign is Underway (Again)
After the short Christmas Break, the Canadian election campaign is starting to heat up. The Globe and Mail seems to have the best coverage of the events, including poll tracking and an overview of the bell weather ridings. Stay tuned for my opinions as the campaign unfolds
Everyone has a blog now!
Back when this site started, none of my friends blogged: what a difference 3 years makes! I just thought that I would point them out to to un-informed: Ang, Lana, Sara, Sharelle. Fellow men, why are you MIA? Writing is not feminine (chicks dig it!); it is time to step up to the plate and compete with these four. ...And to the ladies, Blogger is still getto, check out this free Wordpress hosting!

Holy cow that brings back memories. The dog who stopped the war! that movie's awesome! I had so many day dreams about building a snow fort like that. I want to watch it again so bad.
